I am an Assistant Professor in the Center for the Study of Government and the Individual at the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs.
I received my PhD in Government from the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on public law and American politics. The Government Department at UT Austin has nominated my dissertation for the E.E. Schattschneider and Walter Dean Burnham Dissertation Awards.
In addition to my previously published work, I'm currently pursuing two book projects. The first, under contract at the University Press of Kansas, examines Dwight Eisenhower's leadership of the 1956 Federal Highway Act. The second, currently under review at Oxford University Press, is on demagogues in the American constitutional order.
